Interagency Coordinating Council Retreat Update 2015
On October 1, the Interagency Coordinating Council (ICC) hosted its annual retreat at the Wachusett Inn in Westminister, MA. The ICC is a federally mandated statewide interagency group made up of parents, professionals and providers that advise and assist, the Department of Public Health, on Early Intervention (EI). These “partners” are interested in the future of the Early Intervention system in Massachusetts.
Ron Benham, Director of the Bureau of Family Health and Nutrition, kicked off the day by providing a Department of Public Health update. Dr. Marilyn Augustyn, Division Director, Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics at Boston Medical Center was the keynote at this year’s retreat. Her presentation, “Trauma Informed Care with the Context of Young Children
and their Families,” was very informative, well received and provided attendees with
much to think about.
